Randy and Katy Smelser

Americans living in Germany but citizens of heaven

April End

Monday evening at 10 pm I had just fallen off to sleep and the doorbell rang. It was our neighbor, Timo. He asked if I could take him to the hospital because he was having a heart attack. So off we went to the ER. I was not allowed to go in and returned home to wait for him to call again. By midnight he was back home and I was wide awake. It was not a heart attack but stress. He got fired from work and was meeting with a lawyer the next day, then too being single and cut off from human contact did not help. It did give me a chance to talk with him and we talked about stress, angst, fear and what to do with it. I am not sure what kind of church he is from in Hanover but in our talks it seemed to be a bit legalistic. He came Wednesday eve to our Zoom Bible study and plans to come Sunday. He has no computer or up-to-date smart phone so we have Katy’s iPad for him in the church room and he can take part there.

April

We have plenty to do. I am dressed and in the office by 9 am as always. I am still busy with emails, lesson plans, and misc. office work. I am doing more telephoning and emailing. I also have a long list of things that I need to get done but have not accomplished for months or even years. So I am working on that. I also am trying to get things done around the house that I have put off a long time because of no time. We have also started going thru stacks of slides (remember those little squares that you put light thru and see a picture). For our work we have taken thousands of slides over the years. Talk about a walk down memory lane! After we sort, toss and keep the best slides, then I have to scan the slides and file them, organised and labeled. I wonder if I have enough Corona to get this project done?
